The difference between Social marketing and social media marketing

Well, this time I tried to highlight the social marketing. If you search for keywords social marketing, what about results in appear in search engines? The majority are presented in the search engines is a lot of things related to marketing such as social media marketing via facebook, twitter, google +, instagram, etc.

And if you really learn both of these, then you will be able to distinguish between social marketing and social media marketing. What is the difference between social marketing and social media marketing?

I think social marketing is a marketing concept that offers a particular social group behavior change. The goal is to make improvements social life. Social marketing is in principle the same as commercial marketing, the difference is what is sold and general purposes. Social marketing is done when there is a certain social issues, for example the increasing problem of drug use in adolescents in a city. To reduce the use of drugs it can be done with social marketing. So that social marketing is done on the basis of concern for social issues.

While social media marketing, I think it is not a marketing concept, but only a small part of marketing such as advertising or promotional media. Social media marketing is not a science of its own, but only the latter part of the marketing process. Usually used to place or promotional media only.

Now we can know the difference between social marketing and social media marketing. Social marketing is the science or broader marketing concept, while social media is only a tool that can be used for example to media promotion.

The question is why the internet is only a few who provide content about social marketing? Even based on Google's search engine results, social marketing appears on the first page. While the next page started many emerging social media marketing. Even how ads appear on Google search engine? The majority of ads that appear are related to social media marketing.

I tried using the keywords social marketing using Indonesian language (pemasaran sosial) in Google.co.id. The result is the same, namely the majority of which have appeared on social media marketing.

When I read some of the content on social media marketing, almost all the present content of social media usage information for commercial marketing. In terms of the use of social media to get the money. In fact, there are use social media to behavioral change campaigns eg quit smoking and so on. But there is rarely discuss the specific content about the use of social media for social improvement.
